Behind Sol to Root Wellness

Living the life!
Spiritualist & Wild Woman
At Sol to Root Wellness, I lead transformative wellness retreats to Costa Rica that blend forest therapy, ethnobotany, cacao ceremonies, and cultural immersion—creating spaces where purpose-driven people can rest, reconnect, and remember their power. We partner authentically with local communities, women-led cooperatives, and Afro-Caribbean cultural leaders, centering reciprocity over extraction and collaboration over consumption.
Through GOC COLLECTIVE INC (GOC), I work collaboratively with communities who serve girls of color and train practitioners and organizations using GOC's proprietary G'CIRCLE™ framework that is "Girl-centered" and focuses on: Cultural, Intergenerational, Restorative, Collective, Leadership, & Empowerment—a healing-centered approach rooted in cultural responsiveness, ancestral wisdom, and collective care.
Previously, as Director of Training and Product Design at MENTOR National, I managed over $1.2 million in funding and created the Black & Brown Girls Mentoring Movement—a national initiative centering the voices, experiences, and brilliance of girls of color in mentoring spaces. This led to our pilot work across five states that reached 350+ participants with 92% wellbeing improvement rates.
I lead a practice of forest therapy in Costa Rica and Florida, where I live with my husband Johnie, who is also a certified Chinese and Advanced Clinical Western herbalist. Together, we lead teams to Costa Rica and embody a life committed to healing work—teaching that wellness is not a luxury but a birthright, that rest is resistance, and that our liberation is bound up in the land, in community, and in each other.
